Lego: 52 % of the materials used to make bricks come from renewable or recycled sources

Lego Group announced that 52 % of the materials purchased for the production of Lego bricks came in 2025 from renewable or recycled sources — a significant increase from 33 % in the previous year.

This was achieved through large‑scale purchases of certified materials under a mass‑balance regime and segregated materials, thereby reducing dependence on primary fossil resources.

Investments in sustainability grew year‑on‑year by 20 % and more than threefold compared with 2022. Lego significantly expanded solar capacity, invested in geothermal energy, and entered new power‑purchase agreements (PPAs) for renewable electricity.

Total greenhouse‑gas emissions remained virtually unchanged (+0.2 %), while emission intensity relative to revenue declined.

At the same time, the company experienced a record year commercially — revenue rose by 12 % to DKK 83.5 billion, operating profit by 18 % to DKK 22 billion. In 2025 Lego launched a record 860 products to the market.
